The Unstoppable Power of God's Favor in Your Life

Have you ever felt like everything is working against you? Like no matter what you do, you can't catch a break? We all face struggles and challenges, but there's something powerful that can change everything: the favor of God.

As Bishop Leonard Chatham reminds us, "You got to always remember that God has favored you." This profound truth can transform how we view our circumstances and give us hope even in our darkest moments.

What is God’s Favor?

Bishop Leonard Chatham

God's favor is His unmerited blessing and approval on your life. It's not something you earn, but rather a gift He freely gives. Bishop Chatham describes it as "the fog of God's glory" or "God fog".

"When fog comes upon you, it is very noticeable. No one has to say to a woman that is pregnant, “Are you pregnant?” Because it soon becomes evident that she's pregnant. So God is saying the same thing. You don't have to walk around and talk about the kind of favor that you have on your life. You just be who you are and he'll let it come down on you."

This favor changes the dynamics of your life, affecting who comes into your life and what happens around you. It opens doors that no man can shut and provides opportunities you never thought possible.

Facing Adversity with God's Favor

One of the most powerful aspects of God's favor is that it remains with us even in times of trouble. Bishop Chatham points out:

"The devil wouldn't fight me as much as he's fighting me unless God had a blessing for my life."

When we face opposition or challenges, it's often a sign that the enemy recognizes the favor on our lives and is trying to discourage us. But as the Bible says in Romans 8:31, "If God is for us, who can be against us?"

The Attitude of Favor

To walk in God's favor, we need to maintain the right attitude. Bishop Chatham shares this powerful insight:

"Attitude is like a flat tire on a car. You're not going anywhere until you change it."

Our attitude can either open us up to receive God's favor or block it. Choose to maintain an attitude of gratitude, humility, and expectancy, even when circumstances are difficult.

Standing Firm in God's Favor

When you recognize the favor of God on your life, it gives you the strength to stand firm in the face of adversity. As Bishop Chatham declares:

"You got to fight for what's on your life! You got to fight for what God gave you. You got to get up and protest. Anytime the enemy comes in to try and steal what Jesus left you, you got to tell the devil, 'Oh no, you can't have what God has already blessed me with.'"

Don't let the enemy's attacks or others' opinions separate you from the blessings God has for you. Stand firm in the knowledge that you are favored by God.

Embracing Your Kingship

Bishop Chatham uses the analogy of a checkers game to illustrate how God's favor elevates us:

"When I play checkers, I have to jump over the other side or the opponent in order to get to King's Row. But once I get to King's Row, the dynamics of the game change, because I can do what I couldn't do when I just had my normal self."

God's favor takes us from being ordinary pieces to Kings and Queens in His kingdom. It gives us the ability to overcome obstacles and move in ways we never could before.

Putting it Into Practice

So how can we walk in God's favor daily? Here are some practical steps:

  1. Recognize and acknowledge God's favor in your life daily.

  2. Maintain an attitude of gratitude, even in difficult circumstances.

  3. Stand firm against the enemy's attacks, knowing that God's favor is on you.

  4. Seek peace and pursue it, as Peter advises in 1 Peter 3:11.

  5. Stay connected to God through prayer and His Word.

  6. Use your favor to bless others and advance God's kingdom.

Remember, as Bishop Chatham emphasizes, "The favor of God that's on your life will change the dynamics of who and what happens to you." Embrace this truth and watch how God's favor transforms your life!
